POSes actually have a pretty damn nice explosion animation. Although there is a bug that causes no explosion to happen if the client is already rendering a ton of other things (e.g. the 300 ships shooting the POS in the first place XD) _____

It sounds exactly like overheating to me... The graphical glitches you see are known as "artifacts" to the OCing community. They happen when the GPU gets too hot and starts to have errors. Also, i never liked putting my PC into standby. Standby ...

I doubt that would work too well. Gate camps can appear, dissapear, or move fairly quickly. Or at least faster than a person could update the site. Plus there could also be false intel. Best bet is to check the map and guess using the statistics...
